Am article about the clinics available inthe Charleston-Dorchester-Berkeley region recently appeared in the Charleston Business Journal ?.  It was quite interesting and pointed out that there are a number of clinics available to the uninsured in our region (their are more than 113 throusand uninsured in our area).  The average cost of treating the uninsured at a clinic is $75, a far cry from the $1700 for an emergency room visit for the same problem!

Howewver, three hospitals (Bon Secours, Roper and East Cooper) are losing $1.63 million in funding in the next year, according to the article.
