On Thursday the President signed a memorandum requiring Federal Employees to have at least 6 days of sick leave, and urging Congress to pass the Healthy Families Act (Don’t you love the names of these laws?).  That legislation would allow the accrual of up to 7 days of sick leave per year in the private sector.

And you may be saying, “OK, not that big a deal,” but the law does not integrate with your states policy – each state has their own unique version.  No big deal if you are just in one state, but what if you are in 8?  15?  30?  Now you will have to go through every State and try and make sure you are complying with all the regs…
