Corelogic (877-532-8778) reportedly will be providing credit reports showing data that “has never before appeared” on consumer credit reports. This information reportedly includes things like being upside down in your mortgage, IRS information, missed rental payments and missed child support payments. A review of information on their website, www.corelogic.com, makes it appear that they are combining traditional credit reporting with databanks of distressed mortgages, court records and other public information. It is unclear how they are getting missed rental payments, as the majority of landlords do not report this data.
The company has been around since 1997, and has some baseline history going back to the TRW real estate days.
This will certainly be of interest to creditors, and I cannot imagine it will be long before the major credit agencies begin following suite.
