If so, they should be aware that this plan no longer meets  the requirements of “creditable Coverage” – and therefore may cause them to have a penalty.  They are required to have Medicare Part D coverage in most circumstances, and that means if they don’t, they could be subject to higher premiums when they need it.

Furthermore, the EPIC plan will not cover any prescriptions starting January 2012 if they do not have Part D.
