Did you know that students visiting the U.S. on J visa types are mandated to have health insurance coverage, but are exempt from purchasing coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)? 1.2 Million Non-U.S. university students were in the U.S. for study* just last year alone. The U.S. Government recently increased the minimum amount of coverage J visa holders must have. J visa holders have until May 15th, 2015 to comply with the new requirements.
