Redetermination and your subsidy

The process of requalifying for the ObamaCare Subsidies is called “redetermination.”  It appears that, this year, you can stay on the same plan, and simply fill out a form to requalify.  You will then send this form in by mail, email, or fax and then you will find out your new premiums and subsidies (although that may not be the best choice for you).  Remember that ObamaCare is based on crystal-ball math – you are estimating next years income (2015) to qualify for a subsidy.   The IRS will compare your actual income with your estimate and then “adjust” your subsidy amount – which may mean you owe the government if you underestimated your income, or failed to report any significant changes.
