Only people with minimum coverage can buy ancillary Coverage?

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services i wants to mandate that, in order to buy an “Aflac-style” ancillary coverage to people that have current coverage that meets the minimum standards under Health Care Reform.

The fear apparently is that your employees will take the ancillary coverage, and forego the full medical plan.

HHS proposed the rule in a draft regulation that could apply to individual hospital indemnity insurance, individual critical illness insurance and other individual supplemental health insurance products.

What actuallh happens remains to be seen…
