Where are my cards? members that signed up for the California Exchange are asking “where are my insurance cards?” People have paid premiums since January and not gotten cards, and are now paying cash for medicine and provider visits.
Humana agreed to a $4.5 million settlement and to make required changes in business practices. Apparently they were requiring small group clients to purchase life insurance with their medical insurance plans.
Blue Choice in South Carolina is going green with Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s). They estimate they printed and mailed more than 7 million pages last year. Have your employees log into My Health Toolkit to set up paperless EOB’s.
Nationally– Only 19% of exchange enrollees are choosing the lowest priced (Bronze or Catastrophic) plans. 7% picked the most expensive options… Meanwhile the White House reports they have no idea how many people have paid their exchange premiums, and therefore have no real idea of how many have actually enrolled.
